How to run a successful Student Branch?

Basic Advice

  • Be organised - aim to be efficient and high impact
  • Communication and Marketing
    • Social Media
    • Email channels
  • Events
    • Social and Technical (Fun OR Tech. awe OR Both)
    • Be aware of the undergraduate/postgraduate divide
    • Collaboration events (Uni level, fellow SBs, YP, Tech chapter)

Basic Advice

  • Take advantage of the IEEE Network
    • Get industry and academia involved
    • Every branch should organise a student and young professional social event
  • Funding
    • Draw upon other sources of funding outside the section
    • Talk to your head of school. Leverage the IEEE brand.
    • University student organisation
    • Fundraising
